Microneedling

Microneedling is a technology where several very small sized needles are used to create small channels and micro injury to your skin. This can benefit the skin in several ways but most importantly it stimulates your body’s collagen production. Microneedling has become quite popular in the past few years and it can be used for all skin types. It can further be combined with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) to improve the appearance of your skin.

Microneedling can benefit the skin in several ways, this includes: Improvement of hyperpigmentation, sun spots, scarring from acne, uneven skin texture, fine lines and overall skin elasticity. A series of treatments are recommended to achieve the best results.

Chemical Peels

At MapleDerm we offer a variety of chemical peels which can penetrate your skin to various levels. Peels essentially remove the outer layer of your skin and allow your body to produce new tissue. This can help correct and improve many conditions including scarring, pigmentation and fine wrinkles. Regular use of chemical peels can give a more youthful and glowing appearance to your skin.

PRP

Platelet Rich Plasma, commonly referred to as PRP is a technology where your blood is taken and spun at a high speed centrifuge. This results in separation of the blood into different layers. The upper portion which contains plasma and higher concentration of platelets is removed and used for the treatment. This is injected into the face and scalp with small needles through several small punctures.

PRP has many benefits to name but it mostly helps with overall skin rejuvenation, elasticity and texture by stimulating collagen production. It is further a common treatment for hair loss.

Most individuals require 2-4 injections, spaced at least one month apart, although the interval can be longer. Majority of individuals experience swelling, pain, redness and numbness in the area following the injection. These symptoms last on average 2 weeks but can be longer in some individuals.
