Botox®/Xeomin®/Dysport®

These are a group of injectables called neuromodulators. They reduce the appearance of wrinkles by temporarily blocking the function of your muscles and relaxing them. These injections are most typically used to improve lines on your forehead and around the eyes.

Botox® is also used to treat excess sweating in the underarm and hands, known as hyperhidrosis. It is further a treatment for Bruxism, which is a condition where people subconsciously grind their teeth.

The treatment lasts anywhere between 3-6 months, there is no downtime associated with this injection and you can go back to work immediately after.

Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are the most common fillers used in Canada. These fillers resemble and integrate into your natural tissue. There are many brands available world-wide, the choice of filler depend on the goal of treatment and preference of injector. At MapleDerm we only adhere to those products with highest quality which have extensive studies and research into their safety.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is a type of filler made of calcium hydroxyapatite. It is used to restore volume to the face for a more youthful appearance and for enhancement of facial contouring. This filler works immediately to plump up your skin and has long lasting effects as it stimulates your own body’s collagen production. Radiesse is also used to rejuvenate the hands by filling in the hollow areas and reducing the appearing of veins.

Sculptra®

Sculptra® is an injectable liquid made from a powder called poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA), which is mixed with water prior to injection. Our body loses bone, muscle and fat as we age, all of which leads to hollowing of the face. PPLA works by stimulating your body to produce collagen and restore some of this volume loss. The effect of this injection is seen typically 8-12 weeks post treatment. Most individuals require on average 2-3 sessions, separated by 8 weeks to see optimal results.

Belkyra®

Belkyra® is a Health Canada and FDA approved injection used to dissolve stubborn fat under the chin which many people refer to as “double chin” . Belkyra contains deoxycholic acid, a chemical naturally produced by the body to breakdown fat in the diet. When it is injected under the chin it causes breakdown of fat cells in the area, your body then metabolizes the remnants and gets rid of it. The results from this injection are permanent.

Most individuals require 2-4 injections, spaced at least one month apart, although the interval can be longer. Majority of individuals experience swelling, pain, redness and numbness in the area following the injection. These symptoms last on average 2 weeks but can be longer in some individuals.
